Martin is a dream-team lawyer, all by himself. He shut down a vile civil suit that I was the target of in deliberate, stealthy, measured steps, cornering the plaintiffs team until they completely folded. He was at turns kind, professional, sharp, wicked, funny, mean, snarky–always at exactly the right moment. His grasp of the twisted chess game which is the world of lawyers was a delight to behold, like watching an Olympic athlete at the peak of their performance. Every time he would share a communication he had made with the opposing council I would stand up and cheer. No exaggeration. I cannot tell you how gratifying that is. I’m a little bit sorry it’s over because I don’t get to read any more of these brilliant constructions.
